Announcing: The False Creek South Yahoo Group
The Yahoo Group is a place where residents of False Creek South, between the Cambie and Burrard Bridges, can share information, events, and resources in a friendly, collaborative way.
Here is how it works:
-
Subscribe: Send an email to *email is hidden, JavaScript is required* . In the body of your email, please tell the moderator which building you live in. A moderator will then add you to the group. You can unsubscribe at any time by sending an email to *email is hidden, JavaScript is required*
-
Start Posting: Once you are a member, feel free to introduce yourself to the group. To post a message, send an email to *email is hidden, JavaScript is required*
Please feel free to post on topics that are relevant to the False Creek South Neighbourhood, such as:
-
Sharing information on False Creek South
-
Asking advice – (e.g. Does anyone know a good electrician in the area?)
-
Safety/neighbourhood watch
-
Posting and planning events
-
Home rental/sale/sitting/buying opportunities
-
Swapping/selling/gifting/giving away goods
Disagreements may be impossible to avoid on occasion, but please remain civil and respectful. The False Creek South Neighbourhood Association reserves the right to remove from the group at any time members who do not meet these guidelines of engagement, involvement, courtesy and friendship.
This group’s posts and their archives are only available to members, and are not available to the public or internet search engines.
Tips for Posting
-
always include a meaningful Subject line for your e-mail – your e-mail’s Subject is listed in the digest table of contents;
-
address your message to the list readers – your message will be sent AS IS to the list;
-
please be respectful of the list readers (i.e., avoid overly rude, aggressive, or defamatory language)
-
keep you messages concise – please post longer articles on the web, and then post a summary and link to the e-mail list for interested readers.
-
use the “BCC” (blind CC) field if you want to copy your message to other addresses – any e-mail addresses you put in the “To” or “CC” fields will be published publicly to the list with your message, which may be a privacy issue.
-
remove any irrelevant “reply quotes” or long “signatures” from your message – these clutter up the list and make it hard to read.
-
In general, remember that the moderator is not able to make any edits to your post – this is good (you can be sure your post is never edited) but can be bad (nothing you include in your post can be edited out!)
