There are six co-ops (five land-based and one water-based) on City-leased land, with leases expiring between 2021 and 2040.

In 2017, the co-ops, along with the Co-operative Housing Federation of BC and the City of Vancouver, went through an extensive consultation process, that ended with Sustaining Affordable Co-op Housing on City Land, a report detailing the expected lease negotiations between co-ops and the City. Following Council approval of the report, no lease negotiations occurred.

In July 2021 Vancouver City Council passed the Methodology for Co-operative Housing Lease Renewals, with lease renewal and redevelopment frameworks for co-ops across Vancouver.

RePlan’s co-op Authorized Working Group is made up of delegated representatives from each of the six co-ops in False Creek South, as well as members from nearby Heritage Co-op. The AWG meets regularly to discuss updates, strategies, and communications. For more information, please contact *email is hidden, JavaScript is required*.
