This year’s Grill’nChill, the (almost) annual neighbourhood picnic sponsored by the FCSNA, took place on August 18 in Charleson Park. Organized by Pascale Rozada, along with her event partners Beth Dempster, Robyn Chan and Laurie Anderson, the afternoon featured The Goldies (Judy Lynne’s ukulele band), guitarist Jon Dron, games for kids and kids at heart, lots of burgers and lots and lots of sweets. 200 or so neighbours including some from Margaret Mitchell House enjoyed the festivities, the company and the efforts of many volunteers. Reflecting on all the work by herself and others, Pascale commented, “To me, that’s what made me more connected to this place and the people, doing something together, having fun doing it and for the benefit and enjoyment of all.” Thank you!
