FCS 101: Aging in Community
November 21, 2024 | 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
In False Creek South nearly one third of residents are over the age of 65, proportionately double that of Vancouver as a whole. As the neighbourhood looks ahead to a community planning process, the inclusion of the social and physical infrastructure necessary to support a growing seniors’ population is essential. What examples and ideas can False Creek South look to as we think about the future of our community and what could we implement now?
This Aging in Community panel discussion will feature experts in seniors’ programming, design of seniors living and long-term care homes, and creating continuums of care that support seniors as they age in their communities. Confirmed panellists include:
- Christine Craik – Interior Designer and Facilities Planner for independent seniors living and long-term care homes
- Kathrin McMath – CEO of Broadway Group, which manages Broadway Lodge and Residences for Independent Living in False Creek South
