The federal government has created a new $6-billion Canada Housing Infrastructure Fund – but B.C. must meet certain conditions, including building more housing for the middle class, which B.C. has already committed to with its new BC Builds program.

Provinces and territories have until early 2024 to secure agreements with the new fund. After that time, funding will flow directly to municipalities.

The federal government is also topping up its Housing Accelerator Fund with an additional $400 million over three years.
