The Province has proposed legislation to fast-track housing density near transit hubs. The legislation enables residential buildings with minimum heights of up to 20 storeys within 200 metres of a transit station.
Additionally, the City of Vancouver is expanding the mandate of the new Vancouver Housing Development Office to include enabling middle-income housing on City-owned land. Another motion of interest was also approved last month to explore opportunities to increase family-oriented density near schools.
