School kids in False Creek South started their Hallowe’en a little early – last week, actually – with a PAC organized costume sale. Families donated previously enjoyed costumes to be sold for $3 to $5 each. Costumes not bought, along with proceeds from those sold, were donated to Sheway, a program sponsored by the Vancouver Native Health Society to help meet health care needs of women and children. (Check it out: http://www.vnhs.net/programs/sheway).
Hallowe’en daytime will see a parade at the school during regular school hours – but the big event, of course, here as everywhere, is trick-or-treating at night.
Almost all kids will have the False Creek Housing Co-op at the top of their go-to list. All those doors and so little time!
The highlight for everyone in the know will be the Spruce Village courtyard’s annual “set up”, voted by neighbourhood kids as THE place in the Creek on Hallowe’en.
And for those not in the know, Spruce Village is west of the school, accessible from the east side of Scantlings through the Marine Mews courtyard, from Sitka Square north along Forge Walk, or via two walkways from the seawall, right across from Spruce Harbour Marina.
