City of Vancouver Community Planning event at Charleson Park

community members examine a very large map on a table with City staff

On a sunny June 22nd afternoon, lots of False Creek South residents turned up to hear about the City of Vancouver’s community planning process for our neighbourhood, at a launch event in Charleson Park. City staff members set up display boards about the process (now available online in case you couldn’t attend the outdoor open house), and were on hand to answer residents’ questions.

Members of our FCS Neighbourhood Association, *RePlan, the Joint Co-op Board Working Group, and the Strata Leasehold Subcommittee (SLS) came as well to welcome the City of Vancouver (CoV) team and talk with neighbours.

Kids had an opportunity to build ideas for the community with Lego, and adults could complete a survey to provide input on community planning in our neighbourhood. You can fill in the survey online and mark your favourite FCS places on a map, along with areas for improvement, if you didn’t have a chance to at the event.

(City Council gave staff the go ahead for community planning in False Creek South, at their May 30 meeting. You can read our article on that meeting here.)
