On December 17, 2015 about 60 people of all ages from False Creek South and False Creek Elementary School braved a rainy night to go caroling along the lanes and pathways of the neighbourhood. Sponsored jointly by the False Creek Elementary School PAC and the Neighbourhood Association, the third annual False Creek Caroling Night followed in a tradition that began in 1983.

Beryl Wilson, editor of The Creek newspaper (now archived on this website) oversaw caroling in Leg-In-Boot Square for almost 20 years, ending in 2002. Resurrected in 2013 by Jo-ann Hilton, this wonderful winter event is now intended to carry on every December before the school term ends.
Holding lanterns made by and with the creative guidance of Diane Darch, the carolers, gathered at Leg in Boot Square at 6 p.m. Led by Anita Nordby, the procession moved east to Stamps Landing, then to the Spruce Harbour Marina, stopping along the way to sing to the city in lighted areas. After their last song at the False Creek Housing Co-op in Sitka Square, the carolers enjoyed a light snack, hot chocolate and the gathering of friends.
Thanks to all of the volunteers for their time and enthusiasm, a good time was had by all. Planning for next year has already begun!
